Optus, who recently launched Smart Spaces, which offers customers the latest Smart Home devices and expert services via their ‘O-Team’, has partnered with home renovation experts and content powerhouse, Three Birds Renovations (TBR).
The partnership, delivered end-to-end via Emotive and produced in conjunction with Reel Focus films, includes a range of custom content alongside the launch of a new branded entertainment format, ‘Flipping Smart’.
Rhian Mason, head of creative amplification, Emotive said: “In an emerging and relatively complex category of smart technology, we needed a creative solution to educate potential customers while also driving an emotional connection to spark interest and demand. We identified that one of the key elements many people overlook when they renovate or improve their space is smart technology. Enter Three Birds Renovations and a deeply engaged audience of millions of passionate renovators, across YouTube and social media.”
Central to the partnership is Flipping Smart, an episodic four part series hosted by TBR that lives on YouTube. Offering a unique take on the usual home reno show, the series visits Three Birds Reno School students, revealing their renovations, whilst installing and showcasing how the latest smart tech is the missing link when it comes to transforming your space, with the help of the expert Optus O-Team. The latest episode sees TBR and the O-Team pay a visit to Chrissy and James to smarten up their home and simplify their busy family life with some clever devices.
Alongside the Flipping Smart episodic series, Smart Spaces will be deeply integrated into Three Birds ecosystem across YouTube, social, and broader digital channels. Lana Taylor, co-founder and director at Three Birds Renovations commented: “Three Birds Renovations as a brand is all about creating an engaged community of women helping women to create their dream homes. When Optus reached out to us with their Smart Spaces and O-Team concept it immediately resonated with us because it taps into a real insight that women often overlook integrating smart tech into their homes during a renovation or new build.”
Cameron Luby, head of consumer marketing, Optus, said: “We’re so excited about this partnership with TBR. There are fantastic synergies between us, with both businesses dedicated to helping people transform and optimise the spaces that mean the most to them. This really is the perfect partnership to educate people on the potential for living smarter, not harder, and really bringing to life all the benefits of having our expert O-Team there to help from start to finish. And with the Flipping Smart series we have a suite of content that allows us to do that and be the entertainment, not the interruption.”
The content will be promoted extensively across digital and PR, leveraging the power of the TBR’s fan base. Importantly, the asset suite has been designed to do it all, working full funnel to deliver both brand awareness and sales action messages through custom videos and social cutdowns.
