NOVA Entertainment Supports The Good Friday Appeal

NOVA Entertainment has announced it is partnering with the Good Friday Appeal for the second consecutive year.
Nova 100 and smoothfm 91.5 will officially support the Good Friday Appeal, with both stations providing on-air support and active involvement in key fundraising activities.
Nova 100 will also support Run for the Kids in one of the station’s biggest activations on Sunday. The station will have DJ activations set up throughout the course, creating a party atmosphere to inspire runners at the start zone on the conjunction of Swan Street Bridge and at the finish line.
In addition, Nova 100’s ‘Selfie Zone’ will allow participants to capture the moment they reach the top of the Bolte Bridge.
Chrissie, Sam & Browny‘s anchor, Dean ‘Deano’ Thomas, and NOVA Entertainment staff, will participate in the run. Nova 100 will also broadcast the official Run for the Kids Playlist, with two hours of commercial free hits from 8am to 10am to inspire participants during the run.
Nova 100’s Ben Erbsland will broadcast live from Royal Children’s Hospital from 7am to 9am on Good Friday (14 April). Ben will chat to key guests associated with the appeal and the Children’s Hospital, as well as various AFL players and Channel Seven celebrities.
Nova 100 will be part of the Kids Day Out on Friday 14 April from 10am to 5pm. Entry is free with selected activities between $3 and $5 and other activities by gold coin donation. The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre at South Wharf will be transformed into a wonderland for children, with Nova 100’s ice cream truck to be located on site to allow guests to enjoy Harry’s Ice Cream.
Furthermore, smoothfm 91.5’s More Music Breakfast Show is encouraging additional donations via fundraising events in the lead up to Good Friday. The station will also create a family friendly relaxation zone at the Good Friday Appeal’s Kids Day Out with massages and smoothfm announcers attending the event.
The station will run hourly news bulletins highlighting the tally throughout the day, and smoothfm will raffle off a family weekend getaway in the city to raise funds for the appeal.
Nova 100 and smoothfm 91.5 will also implement a number of internal fundraising activities in the lead up to Good Friday to allow staff to show their support for this special appeal.
Peter Colosimo, NOVA Entertainment’s general manager for Melbourne, said: “We are delighted to partner again with the Good Friday Appeal. This appeal holds a special place in Melbournians’ hearts and we are looking forward to supporting the fundraising efforts of the Royal Children’s Hospital, one of Victoria’s most important institutions.”
Anne Randall, director of the Good Friday Appeal, said: “It’s great to have NOVA Entertainment on board again to support us. The strength of the appeal lies with the thousands of people who come together from across the community to raise funds for The Royal Children’s Hospital.
“NOVA Entertainment helps us to tell their stories and to raise awareness of our great hospital while being a fantastic partner in our big event. It’s wonderful to partner with an organisation that really believes in the importance of our children’s health.”
