Want to know whose watching what on Netflix and where they’re watching it from? Well, now’s your chance to snoop at binging habits around the world with the streaming giant today introducing the new website, ‘Top 10 on Netflix’.
The site will feature weekly global and country-specific listings of the most watched titles across the streaming platform.
Every week the website compiles data on the number of hours viewed from Monday to Sunday and subsequently uploads these catalogues the following Tuesday.
The lists include the international top 10 titles – both original and licensed – of the week, as well as top 10 lists for over 90 different countries across four different categories, including Films in English, TV in English, non-English-speaking films and non-English-speaking TV.
‘Top 10 on Netflix’ will also feature daily country-specific Top 10 lists, which will now be based on total hours viewed, after the lists were originally introduced last year.
Other website features include ‘All time’ lists, just in case you’re curious about Netflix’s most viewed titles ever (hint, it rhymes with ‘quid fame’).
These overall registers will be updated every month and will measure the total hours viewed during a film or series’ first 28 days on Netflix.
As of yesterday, the Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds romp, Red Notice, was Netflix Australia’s most viewed film between 8 and 14 November, while Maid took the title of the previous week’s most viewed series.
The website is currently only available in English and Spanish, with Netflix saying they will add more languages next year.
