NAB and TLA Worldwide have together launched Team NAB AFL Auskick, a creative new-look of the well-loved NAB AFL Auskick Grand Final experience.
Team NAB AFL Auskick will be the third team in town during Grand Final week complete with their very own coaches, reigning Geelong premiership captain Joel Selwood and Richmond NAB AFLW star Katie Brennan. NAB is recruiting a team of lucky Auskickers who will win the ultimate footy experience for them and a friend to both attend the 2023 Toyota AFL Grand Final AND present a medal to a premiership player. Plus, the overall winner will receive $5,000 thanks to NAB, and have Team NAB AFL Auskick coaches as their personal footy mentors in 2024. Team NAB AFL Auskick continues NAB’s long tradition of supporting grassroots footy, with NAB holding a strong partnership with the AFL for 21 years and has sponsored NAB AFL Auskick since 2006. NAB is also the naming rights sponsor for the NAB AFL Women’s competition. On behalf of NAB, TLA has project-led the campaign across ideation, creative, talent, community engagement, content and digital production as well as PR, communications and social. On the launch of Team NAB AFL Auskick, NAB’s Head of Sponsorship, Matt Oster said it’s been a pleasure to work with TLA to evolve the NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year competition. “NAB is proud to continue to back the future generation of AFL & AFLW stars. Being a part of an AFL team is one of life’s greatest moments, one we can’t wait to share with our NAB AFL Auskick recruits. “In collaboration with TLA, we look forward to steering our NAB AFL Auskickers and coaches into the next iteration of the campaign”. General manager of WILDCARD by TLA, Sam Fleming said: “The evolution to Team NAB AFL Auskick was a natural fit to compliment the awe-inspiring feeling of being out with your mates on the ‘G at Grand Final day. “The lucky 23 Team NAB AFL Auskick nominees don’t just receive a once-in-a-lifetime experience as the true third team in town in AFL Grand Final Week – they genuinely make teammates for life, which is what footy is all about. We wanted to ensure this was celebrated throughout the season. “We are appreciative of NAB continuing to trust us through the years to grow their AFL sponsorship opportunities with fun and innovative ideas to engage all footy fans, young and old.” A teaser for the campaign aired on Thursday night during Channel 7’s season opener between Richmond and Carlton, with a full 60 second content piece going live the following night during Channel 7’s Geelong vs Collingwood game. The teaser content is a light-hearted take on the awkward mishaps of the premiership medal podium exchange. Featuring Geelong Premiership player Tom Stewart, the inner dialogue is referenced as Stewart tries to nail down the sequence of events – medal, hat, handshake. Entries are now open for NAB AFL Auskickers across the country at nab.com.au/Auskick. Parents can submit a video via the website about what makes their child a good team player and why they should be selected, as well as who they would invite as their teammate for the Grand Final this year.CREDITS
