Monday TV Wrap: Ninja Warrior Beats Farmer Wants A Wife In Entertainment Tête-à-Tête

Monday’s battle of the entertainment shows left Australia with an important choice: watch impossibly fit people swing about on things, or watch farmers hunt for love among the hay bales. They also could have watched MasterChef.

Well, the results are in and, as per OzTAM’s metro data, last night’s entertainment crown went to Australian Ninja Warrior! It was stage one of the show’s grand final, and with 709,000 viewers, it narrowly beat the second ep of Seven’s Farmer Wants A Wife, which had 697,000. That’s a drop of 123,000 from the premiere ep.

Also on in the prime time was MasterChef , which is in its finale week. The ep scored 626,000 viewers.

Overall, Seven News was most-watched telly of the night with 1,185,000 viewers, followed by Nine News with 1,108,000.

A Current Affair had 805,000, ABC News had 767,000 and 7.30 had 721,000.

Also in the non-news ratings was 10’s Have You Been Paying Attention?, which continued to perform consistently well with 657,000 viewers. So did Seven’s Home and Away, which had 645,000.

The rest of Seven’s night saw The Chase nab 614,000 viewers while the rest of Nine’s had Hot Seat at 569,000.

On 10, The Project had 482,000 viewers and 10 News First had 442,000.

Finally, the rest of the ratings were dominated by the ABC: Media Watch had 440,000 viewers, Four Corners had 419,000 and Courtney Act’s One Plus One had 392,000.

The Nine Network comprehensively won the night with 31.2 per cent of the daily share, while the Seven Network came in second with 25.9 per cent.

In third was Network 10 with 20.9 per cent of the share, followed by the ABC TV Network with 15.4 per cent and the SBS Network with 6.6 per cent.
