Nine’s new parenting show Parental Guidance launched last night to 629,000 viewers, making it the top performing entertainment of the night.
The show, which is marketed as a ‘groundbreaking experiment’, sees 10 sets of parents have their very different parenting styles assessed by Today’s Ally Langdon and Dr Justin Coulson, a parenting expert. Perhaps it will have some handy tips for anyone feeling strung out by months of lockdown home-schooling?
Last night’s other premiere was Seven’s Big Brother VIP, which launched to 377,000 viewers according to OzTAM’s metro data.
Also on Seven was Seven News with 937,000 viewers, Home and Away with 528,000 and The Chase with 464,000.
Over on Nine, Nine News had 888,000 viewers, A Current Affair had 736,000 and Hot Seat had 374,00.
10’s top performer was Have You Been Paying Attention? with 561,000, Celeb MasterChef had 446,000, The Project had 333,000 and 10 News First had 291,000.
Finally, ABC News had 631,000 viewers, Australian Story – which focused on the life and career of Jana Pittman – had 529,000, 7.30 had 517,000 and Four Corners had 501,00.
On top overall was the Nine Network with 29.9 per cent of the daily share, followed by the Seven Network with 24.2 per cent. In third place was Network 10 with 19.7 per cent, followed by the ABC TV Network with 18.0 per cent and the SBS Network with 8.2 per cent.
Now looking to OzTAM’s Total TV report for Monday October 25. On top was Seven News with a total audience of 1,657,000 (metro: 1,009,000, regional: 613,000, BVOD: 35,000), followed by The Block with 1,571,000 total viewers (metro: 943,000, regional: 352,000, BVOD: 196,000).
In third was Nine News with 1,280,000 total viewers (metro: 937,000, regional: 309,000, BVOD: 33,000).
The program with the highest lift on overnight was Love Island Australia at 81 per cent, bringing the total audience to 656,000 viewers (metro: 278,000, regional: 84,000, BVOD: 240,000).
