We Love Our Lamb has announced a major sponsorship of the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade, further demonstrating Australian Lamb’s commitment to bringing people together and celebrating inclusivity.
The sponsorship, launched yesterday at Mardi Gras’ Fair Day, continues on from Australian Lamb’s most recent campaigns, all of which have focused on celebrating diversity and championing equal representation in the media.
Staying true to inclusivity, the We Love Our Lamb parade float will feature a digital billboard that will allow all Australians to be a part of the Mardi Gras parade, no matter where they are. For the first time, a float in the parade will play videos of the LGBTQI community and their supporters from across the country performing a choreographed dance created by Australian Lamb.
Featuring aptly named moves such as ‘The Rack’ and ‘The Loin’ set to the tune of Haddaway’s ‘What Is Love’, the float will be accompanied by a contingent of lamb-loving, rump-shaking dancers as it joins the rest of the parade down Oxford Street.
To join the celebration, dancers simply need to learn all, or part, of the dance and upload a video of this to the We Love Our Lamb Facebook page.
Andrew Howie, Group Marketing Manager at MLA said, “The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is a global beacon for diversity, and as champions of unity, it made perfect sense for Lamb to join the party – we encourage Aussies everywhere to come together with us in celebration. Plus, it wouldn’t be a party without some chops on the menu!”
The public can submit videos from today with submissions closing on Tuesday 28 February.
