Mike Tyson Releases Chewed-Ear-Shaped Cannabis Gummies

“Iron” Mike Tyson has walked a country mile since the days when he threatened to eat people’s children, to nowadays where he gallivants as a well-humoured, stoner entrepreneur.

In fact, his current commitment to cannabis and a good chuckle runs so deep that he’s incorporating it into his business strategy, with a throwback to the boxer’s most infamous in-ring moment.

Tyson announced today on social media his cannabis company, Tyson 2.0’s plans to release an edible weed gummy in the shape of a half-chewed ear, echoing his notorious 1997 fight with Evander Holyfield, in which Tyson bit-off part of his opponent’s ear.

His Instagram post, with the caption “Holy ears!” shows a pile of ear gummies – aka “Mike Bites” – with the tops chewed off.

While the original incident saw Tyson receive a hefty fine and a year-long suspension, the boxing great seems to have put it all behind him, as well as Holyfield himself, with the two having long-since patched up their differences.

According to The Mirror, Tyson originally pitched the idea for “Mike Bites” in 2019, although its unclear whether his former rival in Holyfield was involved in the gummies’ production.

That said, Tyson’s latest tongue-in-cheek product continues his run in the cannabis business, as well as his continuing love for the leaf, which he said began shortly after he (originally) retired from boxing in 2005.

In a 2021 interview with Yahoo Finance to promote Tyson 2.0, the boxing great said his life was “miserable” before he began regularly smoking cannabis.

“I was just a mess, and then after I retired, I started smoking. What a mistake that was,” said Tyson.

“I should have smoked my whole career. I should have smoked when I was fighting because it put me in this different state of mind. I’m very relaxed and the more relaxed you are, the better fighter you are at least in my case.”
