M&C Saatchi-Backed Creative Agency Ugly Shuts Its Doors

M&C Saatchi-Backed Creative Agency Ugly Shuts Its Doors

Creative agency Ugly has closed its doors just over 18 months after launching.

After 20 years in Europe, Anomaly Amsterdam founding partner and CEO Hazelle Klønhammer (pictured above, centre) returned to Australia in April last year to open the agency, positioning it as an ideas company born of the belief that creativity can transform business.

Klønhammer launched Ugly in April last year with the help of Gary McCreadie (pictured above, left), former executive creative director at TBWA Sydney; and Ross Berthinussen (pictured above, right), former head of strategy at M&C Saatchi Sydney.

Ugly also launched with the financial backing for M&C Saatchi, and won the creative account for home loan player Uno in December last year. The agency also worked with surfwear retailer Ozmosis.

All Ugly-related enquiries have been re-directed to M&C Saatchi Australia CEO Jaimes Leggett, who B&T has contacted for comment.
