Matt Damon Does American Breakfast TV Live From TAB In Byron Bay Pub

Hollywood mega star Matt Damon has given an interview for America’s Today show and all from the TAB in a Aussie pub.

The 50-year-old actor, who’s in Australia filming the latest Thor movie alongside Chris Hemsworth, chose the back bar of The Park Hotel in Suffolk Park just south of Byron Bay for his interview backdrop.

In what would arguably be a familiar scene for most Aussies probably was utterly confusing for American breakfast TV viewers.

Damon – who admitted to having a beer – told the Today hosts that he chose the pub because it had the area’s best internet connection.

Damon used the interview to promote his latest film Stillwater, however, was also asked the big question that everybody wants to know – has his pal, Ben Affleck, rekindled his relationship with former partner, the newly single Jennifer Lopez?

“There’s not enough liquor in the world for you to get me to say something about that,” Damon responded.

He also used the interview to thank Park Hotel staff for keeping the pub open past closing time so he could be Zoomed back to the US.

“I’m in Australia, I’m having a beer. The people at the local club were nice enough to leave it open just so that I could do this [interview],” he said.

“They’ve got the best internet connection in this neighbourhood where I am,” he added while not revealing his location.
