LiSTNR has eclipsed 8 million monthly listeners in August, to more than 8.16 million, and retains its no.1 position as Australia’s largest podcast sales representatives network, according to the Australian Podcast Ranker results released today.

Hamish & Andy have cemented their position as the country’s no. 1 podcast and no. 1 comedy podcast with more than 1.04 million listeners. LiSTNR had 20 podcasts in the top 50 on the ranker, more than any other podcast network. As the footy finals season reaches its crescendo, sport has performed well with the Footy Talk – Daily Australian Rules Podcast rising 32 places.

A number of LiSTNR’s sports podcasts also saw audience growth including The Howie Games up two places, The Rush Hour with JB & Billy up 15 spots, and The Footy with Broden Kelly up seven places. LiSTNR’s new The Secrets We Keep podcast series made its debut on the Top 150 Podcasts in August with more than 91,700 listeners after only five episodes.

Luke and Sassy Scott, whose limited edition podcast has now become an ongoing series, also made its debut on the Top 150 Podcasts, while the new Crime Insiders also debuted on the ranker attracting 51,768 listeners. 7am with Schwartz Media continued its extraordinary run as the no.1 news podcast in the Top 150 Podcasts with more than 405,000 listeners. LiSTNR recorded audience growth across its major titles in key genres on the Australian Podcast Ranker.

Triple M’s The Marty Sheargold Show rose 10 places, while other Entertainment and Culture genre podcasts increased their audience including Darling, Shine!, Aunty Donna Podcast, Matt & Alex All Day Breakfast, and WILOSOPHY with Wil Anderson. “It’s great to see Hamish & Andy continue their run as the most listened to podcast and the early growth of our new podcast titles, which debuted in the ranker, supporting our commitment and investment in commissioning and creating podcasts for Australian audiences,”

SCA executive head LiSTNR Podcasts, Grant Tothill, said. “The growth of factual investigative storytelling and our sports podcasts is very encouraging and rewarding for our teams and continues to offer new audiences and opportunities for advertisers.”
