Kyle Sandilands hit the airwaves this morning minus his usual cheery swagger and paid a touching tribute to The Queen.
Sandilands started by admitting he was struggling to process how he felt, after learning The Queen had passed away at 96 years old. “I dunno how I feel! I feel like a family member has died!” He admitted.
Sandilands added: “I know that some people will be, like, ‘Oh, get over yourself,’ but no, I did love her. I waved flags at the side of the road when she drove past.”
Sandilands voice was coated with emotions, and he added: “It’s a sad day. A lot of people will be feeling that pain a lot.”
There was no bravado, just sadness.
Meanwhile, Jackie O was taken over with emotion and burst into tears several times during the usual light morning radio show.
The Queen passed away surrounded by family at Balmoral after a short illness. Since the news broke, the media has been endlessly paying tribute to her.
