The Kyle & Jackie O show has been named Australia’s biggest and most successful radio show ever after the release of the survey 7 results.

The long-running show has moved into the number one Breakfast position overall in Sydney, ahead of rival Ben Fordham, while again breaking cumulative records and attracting the most listeners ever for any radio show in Australia.

The Kyle & Jackie O Show enjoyed a surge in listeners in the survey, claiming a 14.9 per cent share, up 2.1 per cent from survey 7, while also attracting 818,000 listeners, up 80,000 from survey 6.

Kyle Sandilands said: “I’m never speechless but this result has made me as close as I’ve ever been to it. It’s incredible that after 22 years together, Jackie and I are still growing our audience. I’m thankful to our team, listeners and clients for backing a show that Jackie and I love doing.”

Jackie O said: “I’m blown away by these results. A huge thanks to our loyal listeners who have been on this journey the entire way.”

Duncan Campbell, ARN chief content officer, said: “Kyle & Jackie O are now officially the most successful breakfast team in the history of Australian radio, with a show that is not only revered but often emulated worldwide. These exceptional results today demonstrate the unparalleled connection they have with their listeners, and it is truly remarkable that after 22 years on air together they continue to grow their audience and break records as Australia’s most listened-to radio show, delivering stellar results for our advertisers.”

Today’s survey results come after an incredible month for the powerhouse radio duo, who were recently inducted into the Commercial Radio Hall of Fame at the 33rd annual Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs). The prestigious industry award is radio’s highest honour and recognizes outstanding lifetime achievement and contribution to the Australian radio industry.

In what was their most successful ACRAs ever, Kyle & Jackie O also won the top award for Best On-Air Team in the metropolitan FM category for a record eighth time; the Kyle & Jackie O Hour of Power won Best Networked Program; and Kyle was awarded Best Entertainment Presenter. The show also took out wins for Best Multimedia Execution, Best Station Promotion, and Best Music Director.

The show has also been busy the past few weeks with a series of heartfelt givebacks, a segment the show is renowned for. Using the power of radio, Kyle & Jackie O raised AU$87,000 in less than 24 hours for six children who lost their mother in a tragic train accident. A week later they met with a long-time listener who has terminal brain cancer, helping her with two items on her bucket list – meeting Kyle & Jackie O and experiencing a European summer.

Last month, the Kyle & Jackie O Show podcast continued its reign as the number #1 catch up podcast according to the Triton Podcast Ranker Report, attracting 404,700 listeners and over 1.7 million downloads last month.
