Koala Enlists Actor Luke Cook For New ‘Just Do You’ Campaign

Aussie furniture faves, Koala, are launching a new campaign to encourage everyone to embrace their uniqueness and be comfortable with whatever version of themselves they choose. Actor  Luke Cook  joins Koala on the journey to inspire Australia to get comfy and ‘Just Do You’.

At a time when we’re all being told to stand out in the crowd and to be better in our work or personal life, it seems harder to stay true to who you are. ‘Just Do You’, is a playful take on a global tagline to encourage Aussies to be comfortable with being comfortable.

Koala’s CMO, Peter Sloterdyk says “Times are tough for all Aussies, so we wanted to encourage people to take care of themselves and look at what really matters – health, family and friends. Instead of doing more, just doing you and being comfortable is what really counts.”

It’s a spirited play on hustle culture by flipping sport advertising on its head and by using its very own well-known tropes to show just how comfy Koala products can be.

“When we looked at the talent, it was clear that Luke Cook was our man,” said Sloterdyk

The TVC, social video and photography components of the campaign were executed in just 12 weeks through production company Revolver under the guidance of director, Madeline Kelly and photographer, Pip Cowley. It’s another proof of Koala’s cheeky marketing approach and fast turnaround.

As a purpose led company, Koala’s values and mission is to give back to the community through a sustainable and inclusive approach to business and designing furniture that allow everyone to be comfy in themselves and at home.
