James Blunt took to Twitter to call out Spotify’s support of Joe Rogan in a very funny way.

Blunt tweeted: “If @spotify doesn’t immediately remove @joerogan, I will release new music onto the platform. #youwerebeautiful”

If @spotify doesn’t immediately remove @joerogan, I will release new music onto the platform. #youwerebeautiful

— James Blunt (@JamesBlunt) January 29, 2022

Blunt of course is referring to his song You’re Beautiful – which was a 2004 banger and can easily get stuck in your head for over 24 hours and sadly there is no cure for it.

Blunt’s tweet is following in the footsteps of Neil Young and Joni Mitchell – who have asked for their music to no longer be available on Spotify. – due to the platform giving Joe Rogan a space to share misinformation.

Basically, both Mitchell and Young have called out Spotify because they don’t want to be associated with a platform that allows for Rogan to sprout unverified views on COVID-19 vaccination views.

A wish that Spotify granted Young as it has since removed all his music from the platform – no more Heart Of Gold for Spotify lovers – which is nothing sniff at! That song is a straight up banger.

Young and Mitchell’s actions stem from comments Rogan has made around vaccines. Politico reported, Rogan said: “If you’re like 21 years old and you say to me, ‘Should I get vaccinated? I’ll go, no.

“If you’re a healthy person and you’re exercising all the time and you’re young and you’re eating well, I don’t think you need to worry about this.”

Blunt’s tweet has been retweeted over 250,000 times – which is a lot but nothing compared to the amount Spotify is paying Rogan. The Verge has reported that Spotify has allegedly signed a 100 million deal with Rogan.

It’ll be interesting to see if music legends are any match for the podcasting world.
