Is Network 10 Gearing Up To Give Lisa Wilkinson Her Own Show?

Lisa Wilkinson shocked everyone when she announced she was leaving 10’s The Project, but now the question remains what she will do next Network at 10?

When 10 announced, Wilkinson would depart The Project in an official statement, the network made it clear she wouldn’t leave the network.

Beverley McGarvey, executive vice president and chief content officer, of Paramount Australia and New Zealand, said: “We look forward to continuing our strong relationship with Lisa into 2023 and beyond.”

While 10’s known for its big reality gigs like Hunted, Bachelor & MasterChef. It seems unlikely Wilkinson will suddenly become the new Osher Ginsberg of the network.

This leads rumours to suggest that Sarah Harris is leaving Studio 10 for The Project. Maybe Wilkinson could take over her role at Studio 10. A switch and swap! However, that also seems slightly unlikely.

Wilkinson did get to wave goodbye to mornings when she jumped ship from Nine’s Today to head over to The Project. It seems like Wilkinsons’s career is more likely to stay in prime time rather than head back to the bacon and eggs timeslot.

So what does that mean? Where will Wilkinson be in 2023?

At this point, it is anyone’s guess, but considering industry whispers and rumblings. It’d be best to guess that Network 10 plans to make a whole new vehicle and project for Wilkinson that will be announced in 2023.

Particularly when you consider the rumours that she’s on a multi-million dollar yearly deal, basically, the network will want to get its money’s worth and shoving Wilkinson onto an established show might be a waste of dollars.

2023 could be the year Wilkinson gets her own Grimshaw-worthy vehicle.
