HP Australia has announced that Ruben Ahmed has been promoted to director of marketing, Australia & New Zealand.
Formerly head of marketing for Printing Systems, Ahmed is now responsible for all consumer and commercial marketing across HP’s Personal Systems (PC) and Printing Systems divisions. In addition, Ahmed represents HP’s marketing function on HP’s Australia & New Zealand senior leadership team.
Ahmed joined HP in 2017, quickly establishing himself as a dynamic creative and insights driven leader, delivering increased market share, and positively lifting brand perception through key brand initiatives, but has also introduced several data-led CRM acquisition and retention strategies, building new capabilities within the team. Ruben has also been instrumental in transforming HP’s mar-comms function through deeper cross-functional integration.
As HP has continued to deliver industry-leading innovations, Ruben has led category defining campaigns to introduce these to consumers. Most recently, the successful launch of subscription ink model, HP Instant Ink saw Ruben and his team partner with celebrity chef Manu Feildel to redefine the importance of print, generating significant paid and earned media reach and resulting in exceeded business targets for the subscription service.
Ahmed has over 17 years of marketing experience. He has previously held roles at Telstra, IBM and Sony in brand marketing and performance marketing as well as product management roles across consumer, SMB & enterprise segments.
Ruben will begin his new role effective immediately.
