The starting gun has long gone off and the votes are flooding in for the People’s Choice CMO, but who is leading the race?

Well, we’ve crunched the numbers to find out the frontrunners for this prestigious title, because we know you’re all a very competitive bunch!

In outright first is Flight Centre’s Clinton Hearne, followed not too far behind by Nicole McInnes (WW).

Then, the race starts to get a little tighter, with Rene Rached (Medibank) and Suzanne Robertson (Seek) neck and neck in third position, Joel Goodsir (Inspirations Paint) in fourth and Fiona LeBrocq (Medibank) rounding out the top five.

People’s Choice CMO leaderboard

Rank Name Position title Company/brand Percentage of votes
1 Clinton Hearne Head of marketing Flight Centre Travel Group 25.57%
2 Nicole McInnes Director of marketing and commercial, Australia and New Zealand WW 17.02%
3 Rene Rached Head of marketing Medibank 15.96%
= Suzanne Robertson Head of marketing Seek 15.96%
4 Joel Goodsir Head of marketing Inspirations Paint 13.64%
5 Fiona LeBrocq Senior executive, brand and marketing Medibank 10.80%

There is still time for this leaderboard to change, however. Those who want to have their say on who they think is the best marketing boss in Australia – the People’s Choice CMO – have until Wednesday 12 May to do so.

Oh, and did we mention there’s a magnum bottle of Veuve Clicquot’s Yellow Label champagne up for grabs for those who vote?

The People’s Choice CMO is part of B&T’s inaugural CMO Power List, presented by Are Media.

Nominations have closed for the CMO Power List, so we’re now busy whittling down the nominees to 20.

The big reveal of B&T’s first CMO Power List and People’s Choice CMO will take place on Monday 28 June, and will include interviews with each of the top 20 marketing leaders who made the cut, along with the People’s Choice CMO.

Best of luck to all of the nominees!
