Italian fashion brand Gucci has unveiled its latest campaign and it’s two-and-a-half minutes of joyous, pointless, sexy, hilarious fun.
The spot sees the fabled fashion house collaborating with British skate brand Palace and is obviously aimed at ratcheting up its cool cachet among trendsetting (and presumably loaded) Gen Zs.
The concept for the ad came from Gucci’s own creative director, the always offbeat Allesandro Michele, and begins with Mary Poppins-like characters, a flotilla of hot models, Gucci fashions and even an alien thrown in for good measure. The opening scenes are are all set to the Prodigy’s famous rave hit “Out of Space”.
Mid-ad the credits roll, but the madness doesn’t end there. Instead, it heads to a Gucci boardroom meeting appraising the efforts of the ad. But instead of C-suite suits we get, what appears to be, the cast of Sesame Street!
