Greyhound Racing NSW Launches Third Year Of The TAB Million Dollar Chase

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW), has launched their brand-new campaign to promote the third year of the TAB Million Dollar Chase (MDC), the world’s richest Greyhound race with a $1 Million Dollar purse.

The campaign, titled ‘Watch a Dog Become a Legend’ was created by Bastion Banjo and features the 2019 MDC champion greyhound, Good Odds Harada. The creative showcases the speed and the heart pounding excitement of Greyhound racing.

The strobe lighting and close-ups of the sleek, athletic physique of Good Odds Harada, all to the thump of a beating heart, showcases the sheer atmosphere and excitement that surrounds the TAB Million Dollar Chase and the legendary status bestowed onto the winning greyhound.

For this year’s MDC, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be limited crowd attendance, but the TAB Million Dollar Chase will be streamed live on thedogs.com.au, the home of everything greyhound racing.

Tony Mestrov, CEO of Greyhound Racing NSW said: “It was very important to us for our participants, and we are delighted that despite unprecedented times around the world, we are able to stage our premier event again in 2020.

“As we have made it clear around previous editions of this race, the welfare of our animals is at the forefront of everything we do, and again in 2020 all entry fees paid for the MDC will go to Greyhounds As Pets NSW an organisation which continues to do a magnificent job of rehoming dogs after their racing careers.”

Banjo’s Managing Partner Andrew Varasdi said, “we are delighted to again have had the opportunity to work on this campaign for GRNSW, promoting the world’s richest greyhound race. For us, the focus was again about the greyhounds themselves, acknowledging what incredible, graceful athletes they are. Not only that, it was an opportunity to educate the public on what amazing animals greyhounds are. In these uncertain times it is encouraging to see the public take notice as greyhounds adoptions through the GRNSW initiative Greyhounds As Pets, have been increasing over the past 6 months’.

The Grand Final of the event – which will continue with Tabcorp being the naming rights’ sponsor – will be held at Wentworth Park on Friday October 16, and see the winner collect $1 million in prize money.

Leading up to the TAB Million Dollar Chase on October 16 the campaign will be brought to life across digital, print through The Daily Telegraph, and TV airing on Channel 9 from the 24th of September.
