Good Weekend magazine will unveil its first-ever gloss edition with the inaugural Design and Innovation issue, in tomorrow’s The Saturday Age and The Sydney Morning Herald.

The special gloss issue, at a bumper 54 pages, provides advertisers a premium environment to showcase their brands. The edition features a cover execution by Mercedes-Benz to mark the launch of the all new E-Class – the first masthead integrated advertiser cover to appear on the Good Weekend.

The Good Weekend Design and Innovation issue will feature enhanced regular features at the front and back of the magazine, including the new ‘Minutes with…’, where a fascinating figure takes readers into their world for a defined period of time; ‘Endorsed’, a space for personal reflection by renowned writers; revamped Fashion pages and a Father’s Day Gift Guide.

“Our first Good Weekend gloss edition will have all the regular features our readers know and love and will feature some of Australia’s amazing design talent, including Australian virtual reality artist Lynette Wallworth and fashion label Gorman’s collaboration with 88 year old artist Mirka Mora. Our cover story features writer Konrad Marshall, who takes on the ultimate branding challenge – himself – when he hires a design firm to overhaul his image, with startling results,” Good Weekend editor Amelia Lester said.

“There could not be a better way to showcase our greatest design and innovation talent than in Good Weekend’s luxurious, gloss pages.”

Fairfax Media Brands & Audiences Director, Prestige Group, Nerissa Corbett, said: “We are delighted to partner with Mercedes-Benz in the first gloss issue of Good Weekend, which offers advertisers a premium environment and an affluent and educated audience of 983,000* in NSW and Victoria.”

The next special gloss edition of Good Weekend will be the Arts & Culture issue which launches on Saturday October 8 and features the most fascinating creative spirits of our age, with particular emphasis on innovative practitioners in Australia. This edition coincides with the Opera in the Vineyards event, presented by Good Weekend, staged in the NSW Hunter Valley on the same day.
