In what is an historically slow night on the box, Channel Ten had the rare honour of topping the entertainment shows with Gogglebox drawing a fat 543,000 (five-city metro) viewers, according to OzTam.

Gogglebox is also among one of the most-streamed shows, with last Thursday’s episode receiving a 39 per cent uplift in the seven days after its live airing so we can expect to see a handsome number next Thursday for the program’s seven-day viewing. Stay tuned!

Mind you, Gogglebox only managed to come in as the sixth most-watched program behind Seven News (888,000 6pm, 885,000 6.30pm), Nine News (778,000 6pm, 752,000 6.30pm) and ABC News (569,000). All numbers obviously five-city metro overnight.

The extra night for MasterChef paid off for Ten as well, with the show garnering its second-biggest audience for the week at 490,000, behind Easter Monday’s launch of 545,000. The Voice and Lego Masters both took the night off.

Overall, the night was close-fought race, but Nine managed to chalk up its first win of the week. Nine’s primary channel (18.8 per cent) pipped Seven’s main channel (17.7 per cent) for the total audience share of the five-city metro. And Nine (26.9 per cent) also beat Seven (25.7 per cent) with all-channel share.

As you might expect, Ten had its best showing of the week with 15.6 per cent for its main channel and 21.9 per cent overall.

The ABC got 10.5 and 16.4 per cent while SBS only managed 4.6 and 9.1 per cent respectively.
