The best time of the week is here right now because we’ve got another amazing edition of 10 of the best!
In case you’ve missed it, 10 of the best is our content series in anticipation of B&T’s Best of the Best awards presented by Finecast.
Now in case you’re not sure what the hell these awards are, let us tell you!
These awards are some of the most unique in the industry because they are dedicated to highlighting individual talent in the industry, rather than focusing on an agency or company.
This year’s awards have introduced a new category – ‘Diversity Champion’ – which is here to show the amazing work done by people in the industry who are creating a more inclusive work environment.
You can find a breakdown of all the different categories HERE, along with a downloadable file outlining the full submission criteria.
Come on, you know you want to enter! Head on over HERE to complete your submission.
To inspire you even more to enter Best of the Best, we’ll be publishing some fab interviews with a number of senior folk from Finecast and the broader WPP AUNZ network over the coming weeks.
Today we have the business director from Finecast, Lisa Gresens…
Best piece of career advice?
It’s easier to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission – by my first manager at VW. Sometimes it’s easier to just go ahead and do something if you believe in it instead of waiting around for everyone’s permission.
Best agency in Australia at the moment (that’s not yours) and why?
Hatched media. I love their people first approach and the fact that they only choose clients whose values align with that. It’s super important to manage client’s expectations in order to protect your staff needs.
Best leader in diversity/inclusion and why?
Dylan Alcott – he’s incredibly inspiring, funny and easy to listen to. He really knows how to draw in his audience.
Best mistake you’ve ever made?
Soo many! But that’s what you learn from the most!
Best brand you’ve never worked on and why?
Tesla – I find it incredibly interesting how they have built such a strong global brand without any traditional advertising.
Best song for inspiration and why?
Sia – Unstoppable. There is something about this song that I find super energising.
Best mentor in your life/career?
That’ll sound cheesy but my current boss Liv Geen has been an incredible mentor. She empowers me but is always there when I need advice. She’s put a lot of trust in me leading a small team and continues to help me grow.
Best place on your bucket list you want to travel?
This is a tough one – I want to travel everywhere really. Apart from Germany, my home country, it’s probably Cuba.
Best ad of the past decade?
I absolutely love this Pepsi ad taking on competitor Coca Cola – cute, hilarious, memorable – no words needed. Funnily enough Coca Cola would come out on top from a revenue POV!
Best guilty pleasure?
Lemon tart – ideally Crème Brulee lemon tart – yum!
