Fox News Host Bill O’Reilly Is Shown The Door Following Sexual Harassment Allegations

Bill O’Reilly has been forced to quit his role at Fox News following claims of sexual harassment involving the prime-time US host.

A statement issued by 21st Century Fox, the parent company of the cable TV news network, said that “after a thorough and careful review of the allegations, the company and Bill O’Reilly have agreed that Bill O’Reilly will not be returning to the Fox News channel”.

According to an investigation by The New York Times earlier this month, Fox and O’Reilly, paid five women roughly $13 million to settle claims of sexual harassment against the TV veteran.

The women who received settlements either worked for O’Reilly or appeared as guests on his show, The New York Times reported.

The allegations prompted more than 50 advertisers to abandon his program since the allegations.

Furthermore, women inside Fox News questioned the company’s commitment on maintaining a culture based on “trust and respect,” as was promised when chairman Roger E. Ailes was ousted due to sexual harassment claims last year, according to The New York Times.
