Fairfax’s Jessica McInerney Joins Seafood Industry Australia As Media & Comms Manager

Australia’s peak seafood body, Seafood Industry Australia (SIA), has announced the appointment of Jessica McInerney to the role of media and communications manager.

McInerney has a wealth of experience in PR, marketing, advertising, social media and journalism, and joins SIA from Fairfax Media, where she was a senior journalist.

SIA chief executive Jane Lovell said she was excited to welcome McInerney to the organisation.

“We’re excited to have Jessica on board,” she said.

“SIA launched last year and formed to give a united voice to Australia’s commercial fishing industry. We represent the sector as a whole and have members from wild catch, aquaculture and downstream in the post-harvest sectors.

“Jessica has some great creative plans to help us get our ship together and we look forward to what the next 12 months will bring.”

Commenting on her appointment, McInerney said she was thrilled to be joining SIA.

“Australia’s seafood is some of the best in the world and I look forward to working with a global leader in the industry,” she said.
