Experiential agency George P. Johnson Australia & New Zealand (GPJ A/NZ) has announced the departure of managing director Caleb Bush (pictured).
He will be starting a new role as executive vice president of GPJ Europe, overseeing its offices London, Stuttgart, Oslow, Paris and Brussels.
Bush has been a long-term fixture of GPJ A/NZ, starting with the agency in 2009 and has held several roles during his tenure – including producer, general manager and managing director in Australia.
“It’s been a wild ride these past 11 years at GPJ in A/NZ,” he said.
“I have had the pleasure of driving major changes to the agency, winning multiple AOY Awards and being personally recognised by CEO Magazine as Managing Director of the Year in 2019. The people I have worked for, with and in particular the clients who have bought into our ‘experience first’ mindset have been the biggest highlights.”
“I leave the business in a very strong position but still see so much growth for both our clients and staff. It’s not goodbye just yet as we look to handover to a new MD in November.”
Bush has begun his transition into his new role remotely with a physical move to London scheduled for 2022.
Recruitment for his successor is already underway with the agency slated to make an announcement in October.
Ben Taylor, chief executive officer, APAC stated: “Caleb has led GPJ A/NZ through not only its biggest growth spurt but also through one of its most challenging periods due to the on-going pandemic. Despite this, the business is in a good place thanks in part to Caleb’s foresight and the company’s investment in digital, technology and strategic services over the last four years. Having promoted Caleb to take his new position I wish him all the very best – as this is an internal promotion, he won’t be far from our hearts and minds.”
