eHarmony Signs TBL Host Fiona Falkiner As First Online Dating Ambassador

Here’s hoping eHarmony’s newest online dating ambassador Fiona Falkiner won’t have another first date where the potential suitor questions her fertility rate.

Falkiner, TV host of Network Ten’s The Biggest Loser and brand spanking new ambassador for eHarmony, had the audience cringing as she described the outing at a breakfast event in Sydney this morning.

Falkiner is the first ever ambassador for the online dating platform, and has Marie-Claire Ducharme Sayers, senior PR and communications manager at eHarmony, believing bringing her on will take away some of the mystery of the platform.

“What we want to do is take someone like Fiona who we think is a really good fit with our audience – she embodies our target audience and is very relatable – to bring our brand to life,” Ducharme Sayers told B&T.

Within her role as ambassador, Falkiner will document her dating journey on eHarmony’s advice site as well as on social media with the hashtag #DatewithFee.

“I don’t leave my health and fitness to chance, so love isn’t any different,” said Falkiner. “I’m so excited to join eHarmony and share my journey with Australians over the next few months. I feel it’s the right time in my life to meet someone special and I know this is a great place to start.”

Ducharme Sayers added: “We are thrilled to be working with Fiona and sharing her eHarmony journey. The New Year is one of our busiest times as a surge of new members join and millions of matches are made each day. We’re excited to help Fiona meet men she’ll really connect with and have some great dates.”

In between quips about some of Falkiner’s terrible dates, and some good ones, eHarmony also revealed the research it’s conducted into Aussies looking for love.

Some key findings from the research:

  • Millennials are the group that’s most keen to find some love, followed by Gen X and the Baby Boomers.
  • Most singles scroll through dating sites when they’re at home, either in bed or watching TV.
  • However, there are some who use dating apps while on the toilet, some at work and some while on another date.
