Dr Evil’s General Motors Super Bowl Ad Drops & It’s A Goofy 90s Nostalgia Road Trip

Humour and nostalgia appear to be the themes of this year’s Super Bowl ads and look no further than General Motors’ spot that dropped overnight.

Nineties’ icon Austin Powers is back. Well, more to the point, the villain of the show, Dr Evil, returns to spruik the carmaker’s electric credentials.

Actor Mike Meyers is reprising the role, while Dr Evil’s sidekick, ‘Middle Number Two’ (played by Rob Lowe), is in on the joke, too.

The ad’s the work of McCann and sees General Motors joining Kia, Nissan and BMW who are all selling their electric credentials this Super Bowl (game starts 10am Monday Australian time.)
