Canteen’s latest campaign features the combined talents of Director Luna Laure and creative agency Crater. The campaign strives to raise awareness for young people affected by cancer.

The awareness campaign centres around Harry Barentson, who at 12 years of age found out his pregnant mum had cancer. The campaign aims to bring awareness to Canteen’s impact and support in one’s cancer journey.

While his mother fortunately survived, he lost his baby brother Ryan, who passed away two days after being born prematurely.

Director Luna Laure said that “working with Canteen has been extremely rewarding and humbling. Being granted access to such personal stories is always a privilege and one that I do not take lightly.”

“Recounting a story that has happened in the past can be challenging. This is where storytelling becomes so compelling. Harry was fantastic at evoking his experience in a very visual way that called for compassion.”

Crater’s creative director Simon Morehead said, “on all projects, it’s evident that Luna exudes her passion in documenting along with her drive to step up creatively to elevate the brand at hand. Her last two projects with Canteen clearly proves that NFP organisations can tell real-life stories that capture the heart of the viewer.”

Maddison Murphy, single gifts appeals manager at Canteen, said, “whether it be fundraising or brand awareness films, each time we’ve worked with Crater they have been able to provide a creative and engaging final product for our different target markets.”

“They have been successfully used to recruit new donors, encourage repeat gifts from existing donors and raise awareness of Canteen’s services to the wider community and the young people who need our support.”

“Dealing with the sensitive stories of young people who’ve been through cancer can be tough, but Crater has always treated our young people and their stories with respect and care. Over the years we’ve worked with their team, we’ve seen the level of delivery and results increase, not just with donations but positive feedback from our supporters.”
