Carat And Columbus Join Forces To Appoint New General Manager

Carat and performance agency Columbus have joined forces to appoint Ali Parsyar to the role of joint general manager of its Brisbane operation to drive a united business strategy and elevate Dentsu Aegis Network in the Brisbane market.

With strong strategic experience and broad digital knowledge, Parsyar will help to steer the Brisbane business towards Dentsu Aegis’ vision for 2020, whilst ensuring strong alignment between Columbus and Carat to create a point of difference in the market. Parsyar has been working with Omnicom for the past eight years in senior digital and management roles in Sydney, New York and London.

Columbus Australia’s managing director, Rebecca Tos and Carat Brisbane managing director, Gabriela Merrick are thrilled to have secured a person of Ali’s calibre for this pivotal role. The senior appointment is further testament to the continued investment by Columbus and Carat in the Brisbane market.

Speaking of the appointment, Merrick said, “Ali brings to the market a global perspective, digital leadership expertise and significant management experience; this is a unique appointment to the Brisbane market, designed to drive Carat and Columbus forward collectively. Our focus is on bringing top class resources and capabilities to be available locally for the benefit of clients operating in this market.”

Tos said, “Over the past two years, following extensive new business wins, Columbus QLD has more than tripled in size, reinforcing it as a key market for our business and therefore requiring a locally based GM.   In close collaboration with Carat, Ali will deliver aligned solutions for our clients and a united vision to further establish Dentsu Aegis as the pioneering network in the QLD market.”

Parsyar said, “Dentsu Aegis Network has taken a bold step to test out a new and refreshing model that will benefit both clients and agency teams. At Carat and Columbus, I’m surrounded by superbly talented people and I’m excited to join such a powerfully dynamic team.”
