Campaign: Flick Anticimex Reminds You Of The Pests You Can’t See

Flick Anticimex, pest control company, is reigniting its brand with a fun and fresh TVC from ZOO Sydney.

The campaign will extend to online, outdoor and print and aims to remind us of the invisible ‘guests’ lurking around our homes.

The catchy jingle “One Flick and They’re Gone” made Flick a household name in the ‘90’s and National Sales & Marketing Manager, Micheline Hekal, wanted to reestablish the brand strategically and creatively, and ultimately increase brand awareness.

The TVC humorously explores the concept that as we go about our daily lives, we’re oblivious to the bug life lounging around our homes. The piece is based on the insight that if the pests we can see are disturbing enough, what about the ones we can’t?

Flick’s Online Marketing Coordinator, Sonja Bertrand, was thrilled with the efficiency and creativity with which the ZOO team worked, “We gave them a brief and a week later they presented a number of ideas. We loved all of them but finally decided on the one that we thought best represented our brand. It was fantastic working with the ZOO team and we’re thrilled with the commercial focus that a multinational business like ours requires.”

Managing Director of ZOO Sydney, Simon Cubbin, said “It was exciting for us to work with such an iconic brand, one that’s been a part of Australian culture since 1914. We worked collaboratively with the Flick team from the start because we know that maintaining an open dialogue with our clients gets the best results.

“We respectfully challenged each other to produce better results and at the end of the day advertising is all about results. We’re looking forward to measuring an increase in call centre bookings and customer growth.”

2015 has started with a bang for ZOO Sydney, with two new client wins in January as well as several client wins towards end of 2014 including Ricoh Australia, Coag Reform Council, PCYC, Vanuatu and Sydney City Council.
