In celebration of Bank of Queensland’s new app release, myBOQ, the bank has teamed up with Australian Olympic Gold medalist Ariarne Titmus in a series of humorous television shorts.

Titmus (pictured) will be the official ambassador of myBOQ, featuring in a series of television commercials for the bank showcasing the elite athlete competing against the app in a race to set up a new account, as well as enjoying some of the benefits for herself.

Group executive retail banking and CEO ME Bank Martine Jager said the partnership with Ariarne was a perfect fit for the proud Queensland company.

“What better way to champion our brand-new app, than by partnering with a home-grown champion. We’re thrilled to be working alongside golden girl and Queensland local Ariarne Titmus to create even more excitement around myBOQ and the fabulous new features and rates that come with the app.”

“Launching myBOQ is a major milestone for the Group as we progress our ambition to be the country’s leading cloud-based digital bank. The app has created waves since hitting the app store, with close to 20,000 new accounts opened, and our customers have been telling us how much they love the easy interface and speedy set-up process.

“Just like Ariarne, we’re challenging how things are done and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible to deliver the best value and experience for our customers.”

Captured as part of the marketing campaign are the range of intuitive everyday banking features built into the app including being able to open up to nine accounts for managing different savings goals and smashing saving PBs with the convenience of round ups.

Australian Olympic Gold Medalist Ariarne Titmus said, “Feeling confident to reach your savings goals is something I really value as a young Australian, which is why I was eager to embark on this new relationship with Bank of Queensland.

“I’m all for getting things done faster and seamlessly, so it’s great to be getting the word out about how myBOQ is changing the game for those wanting to achieve their financial goals even sooner.”

Launched in conjunction with myBOQ is an exclusive suite of everyday banking accounts including BOQ Future Saver, Smart Saver, Simple Saver and Everyday Account. BOQ Future Saver has been designed with a market leading savings rate of up to three per cent p.a. to help customers between 14 and 35 years of age with balances up to $50,000 plan for the future with confidence and achieve their goals faster.
