Leading agile insights consultancy Bastion Insights, part of Bastion, has appointed Ali Dexter co-CEO.
Dexter will lead the team in Melbourne and work with Peter Harris, recently appointed in the Sydney office.
The joint CEO appointments are in line with succession planning by Bastion Insights founder Dianne Gardiner, who steps aside from the CEO role, moving to a role as executive director.
“I am so pleased to have Ali join the business. Her global research experience and focus on agile approaches, together with Peter, gives us an incredible leadership team to see Bastion Insights through to the next chapter,” Gardiner said.
Dexter is an insights professional with more than 20 years of research and consultancy expertise gained in Australia, Asia, the US and UK. She joins Bastion Insights from market research and insights agency T garage where she spent four years as Director of Insights & Strategy. Prior to that, Ali spent 12 years in leadership roles at Kantar.
“Having worked at big global agencies and smaller ones, I do believe there’s magic in the middle,” Dexter said.
“For me, it’s all about working with people with shared values and shared passion for great work and great teamwork. I’m super excited to continue evolving Di’s vision – and to work in tandem with Pete. We’re committed to ensuring our clients can make informed, human-centric, impactful decisions at this dynamic time in our industry. As the lines between all areas of insight, marketing and communications increasingly blur, sharp thinking is the only way to bring the path forward in to focus.”
Jack Watts, Global CEO added, “It is fantastic to have Ali on board as we continue to build out our local and global data and insights capabilities. Now, more than ever, our clients are seeking a data and insights led approach to all areas of their business. Bringing Ali on board, alongside the recent expansion of our Insights offering in Sydney and LA, will allow us to offer our clients world class insights with local implementation.”
