Apple’s highly-anticipated Christmas ad has dropped and the brand has ditched the predictable snow and snowmen for iPods and some spicy South American summer heat.
In a refreshing twist that global brand managers actually realise that half the planet enjoys Christmas in a hot summer (hello, Australia!), Apple has headed to Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires for its annual festive spot.
Called “Share the joy”, the ad’s the work of long-term incumbent creative agency TBWA\Media Arts Lab.
As we’ve come to expect from Apple’s Christmas ads, dance once again is the feature of the film and, the festive cheer aside, it settles into the commercial reality of flogging its new AirPods Pro.
Continuing the South American theme, the spot is set to to a track called “PUFF” by Argentine producer Bizarrap and Belgian Argentine hip-hop artist Bhavi.
The work was directed by famed Argentinian director Juan Cabral who comes with a strong music video/commercial background and was choreographed by Belgo-Frenchman Damien Jalet.
