Former Publicis and Ogilvy CEO Andrew Baxter has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director at technology-driven influencer agency, Hypetap.
Baxter brings more than 25 years’ experience in the marketing and communications industry to the business, particularly with large multi-agency businesses, where he worked with many of Australia’s largest companies, brands and government bodies,
He is currently the Chair of Australian Pork, and a Non-Executive Director at GrowthOps, Foresters Financial, Sydney Symphony Orchestra and OzHarvest, a Senior Advisor at BGH Capital, as well as the Adjunct Professor of Marketing at the University of Sydney.
Baxter regularly writes and speaks about the future of marketing, in a world where both consumers and technology are ever-evolving. He has been named as one of LinkedIn’s Top 40 Australian influencers, and the winner of Australian Marketing Institute’s Sir Charles McGrath Award for his significant contribution to the field of marketing. He is a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Hypetap’s Founder and CEO Detch Singh said Baxter brings “a deep knowledge of the communications landscape, company governance and the influencer marketing category. We look forward to his contribution to our next phase of growth and we’re excited to have him join the board.”

Baxter joins CEO Detch Singh, CTO Dhruv Singh, former CEO of Mindshare Australia John Petropoulos as well as recently appointed former Havas Executive Chairman Mike Wilson on the board.
Earlier this month Hypetap announced former Havas Executive Chairman Mike Wilson had been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
