Communications agency Alt/Shift has bolstered its experiential and production capabilities with the launch of its very own events and activation sister agency, Light Year Productions.

The agency is the creation of experiential expert and former director of Social Lion, Matt Flinn (pictured above, right) – who will be managing director of Light Year Productions – and Alt/Shift.

Alt/Shift and Light Year Productions will partner to offer existing and new clients a fully comprehensive offering across experiential, public relations, content production and social media.

Flinn said: “We exist for one purpose: to take brands places they’ve never been before. Our team think creatively and work with a meticulous eye to create consumer experiences that are more than memorable – they’re perception-changing.

“The word integration gets thrown around a bit, but we’re in the unique position where we’re working hand-in-hand with PR and social media experts every day to deliver a one-stop solution for our clients – a true triple threat.”

Elly Hewitt (pictured above, left), managing director at Alt/Shift and Light Year Productions, said the new agency held exciting opportunities for all involved.

“Since day one, experiential marketing has been a key expansion target for Alt/Shift, and Matt’s availability on the market prompted us to take the leap,” she said.

“His wealth of experience, attention to detail and determination to challenge event and experiential boundaries affords him a creative edge that complements the Alt/Shift approach.

“Most importantly, Matt fits our agency culture to an absolute tee. He already feels like part of the furniture.”

Flinn has brought with him an experienced team of production professionals to Light Year Productions, including senior producers Etta Curry, Jacqui Duca-Clemens and Gabriella Scardamaglia.

Social and environmental responsibility will live at the heart of Light Year Productions, with the team committed to making all events carbon neutral, as well as ongoing fundraising – both independently and in partnership with clients – for Marriage Equality Australia.
