Today Alpha Digital confirms a raft of new hires to the team after a bumper start to 2022. In total there are 15 new staff members, including six new graduates who will be working across the 75 strong client base.
Alpha Digital is proud to welcome Silvia Arpasova as the new senior paid media manager. She has particular expertise in the area of paid search having worked with PHD, Neo@Ogilvy and most recently as head of paid search at Agenda21 Digital in London. She will be lending her keen eye to elevate the profile and execution of paid search across the agency.
Silvia commented on stepping into her new role: “I came to Australia with extensive senior experience in the digital space from the UK and international markets. As a woman in this industry, my ultimate goal was always to utilise all of it to help the Brisbane market. The clients and the digital teams really make a difference here, and Alpha Digital is a place where I feel really enabled to do that. The digital industry has been so kind to me over the years that I am excited to give back!”
Claire Overell, senior media manger, Alpha Digital
Sam McConnell was confirmed as the new head of its Melbourne bureau at the end of last year, and joining him in Melbourne will be Alex James (AJ) who comes from Country Road Group where she was social lead. At Alpha Digital she will be working across the gamut of retail clients as a senior paid media manager with a focus on the Melbourne market.
Also joining the Alpha Digital team with a wealth of knowledge from the university and Property sectors and most recently hailing from the university of Queensland is Mohini Mutya. Mohini will be stepping in and lending her expertise as senior email marketing manager.
Formerly at Reprise Australia where she was a finalist in the Microsoft Advertising APAC trailblazer of the Year 2021, Claire Overell comes to Alpha Digital as a new senior paid media manager having worked with brands like Heritage Bank, RSPCA, Freedom Foods and Cochlear. Claire will operate across a wide variety of clients and will be a major asset on the digital performance side of Alpha Digital.
Bek Agius, senior brand and marketing manager, Alpha Digital
Bek Agius slots into her role as the senior brand and marketing manager, from Outfit, the automated brand management platform. She brings with her a fresh approach to fostering brand growth in an increasingly fragmented industry. Bek will be responsible for growing Alpha Digital’s profile in the fast-growing Australian digital marketing community and leading the brand identity into the future.
Bek commented on the new opportunity: “Stepping away from Martech into agency brand management at Alpha Digital is really exciting for me – both because it presents so many opportunities to bring a different way of thinking about Brand into the organisation, but also to bring the Alpha Digital brand itself into the future. The team seems really eager to get curious about how they can use technology and some new methodologies to really start owning their brand.”
The new graduate cohort has begun its 12 month stint of learning on the job and is currently on the first of their four rotations within the business. CEO Sam Wood is very proud of the program with its track record of having offered every previous cohort a job within the agency at the end of the graduate program.
Mohini Mutya, senior email marketing manager, Alpha Digital
Speaking on the new hires, Wood commented: “We’re very lucky to have so many people with a wealth of experience at the same time. They bring with them such varying perspectives that contribute to Alpha Digital as we get curious about how we turn the business problems of today into marketing problems we can solve. Between Silvia, Claire and Mohini alone, we’re lucky enough to welcome global experience across higher education, financial services, property industries and so many more and this only further enriches the fabric of our team.
“Mohini’s experience in the Higher Education sector has given us an amazing new perspective into how we can drive even better outcomes for our D2C clients within the lifecycle space. And Bek’s accelerated pace and unique perspective on brand and culture working hand in hand is something that set her apart and aligned her perfectly to what we’re setting out to achieve at Alpha”, Wood added.
“This year has seen new ownership of our graduate program and a renewed focus on setting our graduates up for success in their chosen area. We’ve spent a lot of time perfecting this process, and while we’ll always be evolving the program itself, it’s been great to see consistently positive feedback from the cohorts.”
