Community driven hospitality company, Airbnb, is calling on Aussies to pack their feathers and sequins and stay in what could be the world’s most fabulous listing yet.

Located at the Royal Botanical Gardens, overlooking Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Mardi Gras float is custom-designed as a house and comes complete with a loft-style master bedroom, fully equipped kitchen and garden with white picket fence.  At night, the house will sparkle with neon-coloured lights and lightly dust those that pass by with its glitter canon chimney.

The listing will be home to one lucky couple on Friday 6th March who will wake up to extraordinary views overlooking the city’s famous harbour, offering a one-of-a-kind experience.  After the guests have checked-out, the house will be transported to Sydney’s Oxford Street where it will be a main feature in the iconic Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade.

“We’re extremely proud to be a major partner of this year’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras – an incredible festival that celebrates community, diversity and belonging,” said Airbnb Australian country manager, Sam McDonagh.

“The LGBT community around the world have been some of the first users of Airbnb, hosting and travelling with pride, so we’re thrilled to support a community that has always embraced us.

“Sydney is one Airbnb’s top ten cities, with more than 10,000 local listings.  And I’m thrilled that the Mardi Gras is our second busiest booking period in the year, with guests from around the world discovering and booking accommodation with locals so they can be a part of the celebrations,” said Mr McDonagh.

For a chance to secure a night’s stay, go to the listing site, click contact host, pick any available date in the calendar and tell the host why you would like spend a night on the Airbnb Mardi Gras float.  Submissions must be 25 words or less and be entered by 11:59 p.m. on 3 March 2015 (AEDT) to qualify. Along with dinner, breakfast, the overnight stay and the experience to participate in the Airbnb Mardi Gras parade, the lucky winners will also stay in a Penthouse from 5 – 10 March 2015. Travel to and from the float will also be provided.
