Unilever has moved to employ two marketing chief in place of the departing Peter Boone, bringing in Hugo Verkuil from Malaysia and elevating Andrea Martens.
As revealed by B&T last year Boone quit the role of vice president of Unilever Australasia, with the FMCG giant taking its time to fill his role.
Verkuil , who was marketing director in Malaysia and Singapore, becomes vice president of marketing and managing director of foods and refreshments, overseeing Streets and Lipton among other brands.
Martens, who was in charge of refreshments marketing in ANZ. Will be vice president of marketing, managing director of home and personal care, with a remit over brands such as Dovem and Rexona.
Unilever ANZ chairman and chief executive Clive Stiff said in a statement: “The decision to split the current VP marketing role into two discrete marketing/managing director roles is a reflection of the overall accountability for business results that we place on the marketing function.”
