Budget unveils first TVC in a decade

Budget has launched its first TV campaign in 10 years, bringing the popular Barry Bowen radio character to the screen.

Budget has been running the Barry Bowen radio campaign in Australia since 2005, and has enjoyed strong rental and market share growth results from this campaign.

The commercials will feature actor Ric Herbert who has been the voice of Barry Bowen radio commercials for over five years.

The campaign includes four 15 second commercials, each depicting a different car or truck rental situation with a different promotional offer for each – all with the Barry Bowen sense of humour and quirky language.

The commercials were created by Budget`s advertising agency Shift.

Shift MD, Iain Good said: “The challenge that we were given by Budget was to take the successful radio campaign and give it even greater life and impact through television. We believe the Barry TV commercials will further drive the brand’s connection with the Australian audience whilst promoting some compelling retail offers.”

The television campaign will launch at the end of January and will be supported across a range of marketing elements, including on-line, email, social media and print material.
