Dumped PM Malcolm Turnbull’s Q&A tell-all pulled a respectable 666,000 for the ABC last night and was Thursday’s sixth most watched show of the evening.
In what appeared a quiet Thursday, Ten’s The Bachelorette mustered 605,000 and its new comedy, Peter Helliar’s How to Stay Married, pulled 508,000 on debut.
Another debutant, Seven’s Orange Is The New Brown, could only do 422,000.
Seven won Thursday in the tightest of contests: 27.6 per cent to Nine’s 27.2 per cent. The ABC nabbed third and 19.8 per cent, 10 had to settle for 18.7 per cent and SBS took home 6.7 per cent.
Once again, Seven’s 6pm new was the most watched show of the evening with 850,000. The network’s other highlights included Home and Away (513,000), The Chase (414,000), Modern Family (274,000) and the movie Bridesmaids (157,000).
For Nine, its 6pm news did 730,000, ACA had 644,000, Paramedics did 561,000, RBT had 429,000), Hot Seat managed 404,000 and Chicago Med pulled 259,000.
Ten’s other two movers included The Project (429,000) and 10 News First (335,000).
The ABC’s night ran thus: 7pm news (667,000), Q&A Special: Malcolm Turnbull (666,000), 7.30 (594,000), a repeat of Endeavour (295,000) and Sammy J (234,000).
