Thursday night’s war for entertainment was won by 10’s Gogglebox, which just pipped Seven’s Home and Away.

Gogglebox had 577,000 viewers, while Home and Away had 566,000 – and in a bonus, Home and Away: Late had 554,000 viewers.

Seven News came top overall with 957,000 viewers, while Nine News had 914,000, A Current Affair had 716,000 and ABC News had 657,000.

The ABC also had 7.30 with 439,000 viewers, Foreign Correspondent with 295,000 and Q+A with 276,000.

Meanwhile, Nine had Paramedics with 414,000 viewers, Hot Seat with 402,000, Tipping Point with 283,000, and Nine’s Afternoon News with 255,000.

Over on 10, The Proejct scored 343,000 viewers while 10 News First had 321,000.

Finally, on Seven, was The Chase with 465,000 viewers.

The Seven Network resoundingly won the night with 30.3 per cent of the daily share, followed by the Nine Network with 24.8 per cent.

Next was Network 10 19.0 per cent, while the ABC TV Network had 15.6 per cent and the SBS Network had 10.3 per cent.

Looking now to OzTAM’s Total TV report for Thursday October 7, it was once again (quelle surprise) Seven News, The Block and Nine News in that order. Seven News had a total tv audience of 1,604,000 (metro: 1,001,000, regional: 564,000, BVOD: 35,000).

The Block had 1,545,000 (metro: 847,000, regional: 54,000, BVOD: 177,000) and Nine News had 1,381,000 (metro: 1,019,000, regional: 327,000, BVOD: 34,000).

The Block was tied with Home and Away for highest lift on overnight, both scoring 22 per cent. Home and Away had a total tv audience of 1,164,000 (metro: 565,000, regional: 391,000, BVOD: 174,000).
