If there was ever a man to make a colonoscopy fun then it has to be actor, writer and ad man, Ryan Reynolds.
Having just turned 45, Reynolds (via his creative agency Maximum Effort) filmed his procedure in an almost seven-minute long mini-film called “Lead From Behind” for the US’ not-for-profit Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
Again, the Deadpool star teams with fellow actor Rob McElhenney for the spoof flick. The duo, of course, are also co-owners of Welsh football club Wrexham AFC.
Reynolds apparently agreed to broadcast his footage after betting that McElhenney he couldn’t learn to speak Welsh. To his credit, McElhenney does manage to bumble his way through a fluent sentences to kick off the clip.
Thankfully, both men manage to get the all-clear from the doctors. Watch it below:
Colorectal Cancer Alliance estimates that one in 24 Americans will develop colon cancer.
Commenting on the campaign, Reynolds said: “The procedure and prep were painless, but the discomfort of filming and sharing the process was the hardest part. Rob and I did it because we want this potentially life-saving procedure to be less mysterious and stigmatised.”
