Parents Fume As Humping Squirrel Ad Aired During Family TV

An oddball ad for Lynx Body Spray has caught the ire of parents after it showed a squirrel humping a can of the teen deodorant.

The ad, for the 25th-anniversary of the brand’s ‘Africa’ scent, aired in the UK during Sunday night’s family-friendly Britain’s Got Talent.

Viewers of the ad not only condemned its “wear Lynx, get the girl theme” but also the amorous quirrel in the final frames of the ad.

The spot aired at 8.30pm, a good half an hour before the UK’s censors “watershed” which allows more adult themes to be aired.

Viewers of the spot raged to social media: “We are watching this as a family. Can I ask why the inappropriate ad for Lynx with a squirrel getting it on with a deodorant can was on before the watershed? Complaint logged.”

Another added: “Inappropriate filth advert kids and I have just seen before the watershed. Sort it out.”

It’s unclear how many complaints were lodged to the watchdog Ofcom, but for its part, the broadcaster network ITV, has said the ad met its standards.
