Australian activewear brand Muscle Nation and Aboriginal Artist and proud Wiradjuri man Kaiden Powell have come together in celebration of NAIDOC Week and this year’s theme ‘Heal Country’ to create a limited edition T-Shirt.
Muscle Nation has released a limited edition charity t-shirt weaving sections of Kaiden Powell’s artwork across the logo and sleeves in its exclusive collaboration.
Kaiden Powell’s artwork, symbolises community, with different colours representing diversity and people from all walks of life, and cultural backgrounds coming together.
100% of the sales of this t-shirt will be distributed between several charities including NAIDOC and various First Nations community organisations.
Nathaniel Anthony and Chris Anastasi, co-founders of Muscle Nation met Kaiden whilst on a photoshoot for a new collection in Byron, which is when the idea for the collaboration came together.
Artist, Kaiden Powell, said: “The artwork signifies people in the community coming together, united as one. Each dot represents each one of us individually, and how we play a role within the bigger picture and how our actions can help towards change.”
Nathaniel Anthony, co-founder, Muscle Nation, said: “Life gives you signs, and Kaiden was a sign. We were in Byron for a photoshoot and we were looking at this fig tree that others were crowding around. That’s when Kaiden and his friends pulled up and we started talking, he told us about the significance of this majestic fig tree, and he told us about himself.
“All of us who were there and met him felt a connection with him and we felt our values were aligned. We also felt Kaiden’s voice is an important voice that needed to be heard and he was someone we wanted to work with.”
