Meta Announces Communication Tool Workplace Will Integrate With WhatsApp

Workplace from Meta has announced an integration with WhatsApp that makes it easier for organisations to reach their workforces.

This is especially pertinent to those on the frontline who are often the least connected.

Expected this year, the integration will enable companies to share posts from Workplace with employees over WhatsApp.

In doing so, organisations will be able to ensure information and updates reach frontline workers where they are in real-time.

This announcement comes in the wake of Workplace’s latest Deskless Not Voiceless research that launched on January 21, 2022.

This report revealed that many Australian frontline workers are feeling disconnected and deprioritised from their organisations.

The extent of this issue is so bad that 46 per cent of Australian workers plan to leave frontline roles in 2022.

Against the backdrop of The Great Frontline Resignation, the research highlighted the need for businesses to build a more connected employee experience.

Therefore, the pre-announcement of Workplaces integration with WhatsApp should come as a relief for this vital workforce.

The new integration will ensure that important updates from Workplace can be shared directly with employees over WhatsApp.

This will enable frontline workers to feel more bonded with their leadership team, helping to boost retention in this essential segment.

Christine Trodella (Title photo), global director at Workplace from Meta, said, “We’re at a critical juncture of the employer-frontline relationship.”

“Now is the time for leadership to listen, learn, and more importantly, take action to build a workforce that is inclusive of the workers who brought them through the pandemic.”
