OzHarvest is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a broadcast of its major fundraiser ‘Unite to feed Australia’ on Tuesday 3 December, dedicated to raising funds to provide meals for Australians facing food insecurity. It has teamed up with Menulog for a Guzman y Gomez promotion on the night of the telethon.
OzHarvest’s fundraiser aims to provide an additional 5 million meals for Australians facing food insecurity.
OzHarvest hosted the ‘Unite to Feed Australia’ concert on 7 November 2024, an event aimed at raising funds. To bring more attention to the cause, the concert will be packaged into a nationwide telethon airing on 3 December 2024.
On 3 December, Menulog customers can enjoy free delivery on Guzman y Gomez orders for one night only. For every GYG order placed, Menulog will donate an additional meal to OzHarvest. This campaign offers customers a way to support a worthy cause while enjoying Mexican food.
In the lead-up to the concert, Menulog launched a customer competition offering the chance to win tickets to the ‘Unite to Feed Australia’ event. For every entry, Menulog donated 50 cents for those in need. With 14,527 entries received, Menulog has raised nearly $8,000 so far.
“At Menulog, we’re not just about delivering food, we’re about delivering impact,” Menulog’s marketing director, Simon Cheng said.
“This is a cause we’re deeply passionate about and we encourage our customers to join us in making a difference; every meal, every donation and every action counts”.
Menulog has supported OzHarvest since 2021.
“There are now two million households in Australia facing severe food insecurity,” OzHarvest founder Ronni Kahn AO said.
“This is more than a concert, it’s a call to action and every dollar raised will enable us to deliver two meals to someone in need. The concert aims to raise awareness and crucial funds to provide more meals for Australians struggling to make ends meet. There’s never been a more important time to support the cause,” she added.
