Marcel Builds Its Creative Department, Adding Six New Faces

Since its launch in January, Marcel Sydney has been quietly building up their creative department, adding six fresh faces to the roster.

Kevin Masters and Jeremy Hogg join as a creative team working across all accounts.

Previously at Havas in Sydney, they each have over 10 years experience and have worked on brands and pitches all over the world, including Volkswagen, Blackmores, PayPal, Virgin Mobile, Telstra, Intel, Meat & Livestock Association, Wrigley’s, David Jones, Johnson&Johnson and Pepsi.

Gavin Chimes and Les Sharpe join as a creative team, most recently from Droga5 in Sydney.

Chimes has been recognised by Cannes, AWARD, Caples, D&AD, ADMA, B&T, Sirens and Lürzer’s Archive for his work on Tiger Beer, Alibi Bourbon and Dry Dock.

Sharpe’s passion for art, fashion and culture shows in his work, which has been exhibited in the NSW Gallery been recognised by D&AD, featured in Shots, Creativity Online and Contagious Magazine.

Vanessa Every-Burns is getting her adland start at Marcel. She graduated in the top ten of AWARD School Melbourne 2015 and shortly afterwards took out top student at Copy School in Sydney.

She is joined by Jessica Brunner, who studied art direction in Switzerland, worked in Dublin before coming to Sydney.

Scott Huebscher, executive creative director of Marcel Sydney, said of the appointments, “We’ve been very lucky. We’ve found amazingly talented, hard-working people for the creative department — and no assholes.”
