Out-of-Home media company JCDecaux New Zealand has appointed business growth specialist Adam McGregor in preparation for its bid to win upcoming local government street furniture tenders across the country.

With contracts for the provision of street furniture including bus shelters across New Zealand up for renewal from late 2022, they collectively represent the biggest advertising contract in the country.

Sustainability will be a focus for JCDecaux in its bid for these contracts in New Zealand.

McGregor is an experienced Out-of-Home senior executive with global experience in the industry including commercial partnerships, strategy, technology, and audience growth. He also spent nearly six years as the general manager of the industry association the Out of Home Media Association of Aotearoa (OOHMAA formally the Outdoor Media Association of New Zealand – OMANZ).

Steve O’Connor, CEO of JCDecaux, said: “The JCDecaux business invented advertising-funded street furniture. Our world-class expertise in design, sustainability, smart cities, urban mobility and emphasis on local place and culture, position us as a compelling choice to update the existing street furniture.

“Appointing Adam to this key role demonstrates our ambitious plans for the bid in this fast-growing market.”

Adam McGregor, country head for JCDecaux New Zealand, said: “JCDecaux Belgium recently won the exclusive 15-year street furniture contract for the city of Brussels due not only to their expertise but because of the sustainability of the network.

Sustainability is high on the agenda for councils across New Zealand and JCDecaux can deliver a street furniture network that makes reducing the environmental impact a priority.”

Adam McGregor, said: “I’m joining JCDecaux because I believe when it comes to street furniture, it is an unrivalled partner for any city in New Zealand.

“I’m looking forward to being part of the bid to show how JCDecaux is the number one choice to deliver effective audience experiences and opportunities.”
