Social media marketing management platform Hootsuite has a new chief marketing pfficer (CMO), Penny Wilson.
Wilson will lead Hootsuite’s global marketing organisation and help drive the growth of its customer base of more than ten million users, including 800 of the Fortune 1000 companies.
Wilson has more than 30 years of experience as a senior marketing and operations executive at large enterprise technology companies. She served as CMO for Juniper Networks, where her focus on developing the company’s first cross portfolio solutions, establishing clear customer value and ensuring a consistent global brand helped transform Juniper’s market strategy from technology-driven into customer-driven.
Wilson also served as CMO at Macromedia Inc. where she led the company’s worldwide marketing efforts up to and through Macromedia’s successful $3.4 billion acquisition by Adobe Systems Inc. She helped establish Macromedia as the leader in creation and delivery of rich internet applications across all devices. Wilson played a crucial role in cultivating a strong worldwide user community which enabled developers and designers to create outstanding customer experiences and profitable applications. Wilson’s customer centric focus was responsible for driving significant revenue growth through a strong vertical markets strategy.
